A Busy Week! (Is there any other type?!?)

Well, we've just finished off yet another busy week!  The most exciting news of the week is that we now have a car!!!!  It is a silvery Prado (Toyota) that has 4x4 capabilities.  It can also seat 5 comfortably in the front and middle seats, plus has 2 side-facing flip-down seats in the back--very similar to a Kijang in Pontianak.

We are continuing to slowly make our house feel like home.  Because we were working so hard on the car, which took up most of Mom & Dad's time, we still don't have much (or any!) furniture.  But, as we check things off our to-do list, hopefully this week we'll get or order beds, and a desk and wardrobe for me, as well as possibly some furniture for our welcoming room upstairs.

We are very excited for tomorrow because we are heading out of the city for the first time!  We are going with Pastor Andre to Gisenyi to be introduced at regional meetings.  It should be another adventure (which also means an interesting blog post!) and we are looking forward to seeing more of Rwanda than just Kigali.

Since there isn't as much to write about, I'll give more pictures to look at!  Enjoy a glimpse of what we are seeing!

A fun thing that was able to happen this week was that Caleb was able to host a Nerf War.  Earlier this week, Caleb noticed that we had a totally empty room downstairs, plus oven, fridge, and washing machine boxes, and empty suitcases!  In case you're not a boy, or don't have brothers or sons, this is the perfect equation for a Nerf War!!  And since Dad, Caleb & I had such fun time doing it, and Caleb had Thursday and Friday off, he decided to invite 3 of his new friends from school over on Thursday afternoon.  The boys (including Dad) had a very fun time!  Makes us miss his Nerf buddies in Pontianak, though!

Action!!!

Today is Daddy's birthday--our first family birthday in Africa!  Because I knew we weren't going to have cake, I had the idea that, since we were going to the bagel place for breakfast, and bagel's have a hole in the middle, and we recently purchased a couple of single tall candles for when the power goes out, we should bring it along with our lighter, and when he got his bagel, we could put it in it!  I had to do some slight convincing, but we did do it and it was fun! :-)

And we used one of our mixes from Canada and had tacos
for supper! Yummy!!

This afternoon we were able to do a lengthy Skype call with Nanny & Grampy and give them a virtual tour of the house, which was fun!  I'll post some pictures once we get some furniture and it looks like it's livable!!

Showing them our yard & car--hey!  You get to see our
car too!

So, I should hopefully have another update for you on Monday.  We are leaving at 7, and have no idea when we'll be home! :-)

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!
